2020 MasterWorks of New Mexico
The 22nd Annual Fine Art Show will be held in the Hispanic Art Bldg. at EXPO-NM from March 27-April 19, 2020.
Standard Size Entries Due - January 25 , 2020, at 5 PM
Notice of Std Size Acceptance - February 15 , 2020
Due to the Postponement and Rescheduling of MasterWorks,
dates have changed.
See new info below.
The MasterWorks of NM show will now be
held July 11 thru August 2, 2020
at the Hispanic Arts Building at Expo NM.
You will need to re-register your artwork that you wish to enter. We have deleted all previously entered data. Go to www.masterworksnm.org, then to Artist Entry up in the menu bar, and then to the Mini Prospectus. Go to the Click Here to submit your entries.
The deadline to RE-enter is Wednesday, April 15, 2020 by 5 pm.
Please pay attention to the instructions in entering your information. Due to limited space on the labels, Titles for example cannot be more than 25 characters, including spaces. Under Medium, use only the mediums listed. Example of a correct medium would be Acrylic, not Acrylic with resin. The medium allows us to know where the piece will be juried and hang. Also check your spelling. We will presume that the spelling is how you wish it to appear in the program.
Artwork will need to be delivered on
Monday, July 6, 2020, 10am to 1pm.
If you have questions or a problem with using email, please call Lin McKay at (505) 294-2935.

Theme is: “Rough and Tumble: Life in a Desert Town”. The desert can be a rough place: thorns, goat heads, scorpions, rattlesnakes, the blistering sun baking the land or tumbleweed blowing in fierce winds. For centuries people have lived and thrived here. This theme speaks to the human history of survival in this region, and the wonder of this place (and not only in delicate flowers emerging from a hostile land). We are thrilled by jagged peaks of rocks against a blue sky, carved out areas of mining-created “beauty”, or smooth river rocks in a dry riverbed, tumbled by flash floods and ice. Indoors or outdoors, life in a desert town can be rough and tumble and the artwork will inspire artists to respond creatively to this multi-faceted topic.
