Southern Chapter Student Awards
The NMWS-SC Student award/Scholarship project for 2016-17 produced two $250 winners, WNMU student, Maih Thornburg, and NMSU student Patrick Schaffer. (A special fund at NMSU matched our award for a total of $500 to the student.) Both students were judged for their proficiency in water media at their annual art exhibit in the Spring of 2017. Lu Bleveans initiated the SC program in 2015. Money was raised through a 50/50 raffle and donations from SC members. SC will continue the tradition this year. --Pat Bonneau-White and Ivan White, chairs
