    NMWS October 2026 Paint Out

    The October 17th paint out will be at the Tijeras BioZone Education Center From 10 am to 12 noon. This is an inclusive outdoor learning landscape and open-space site located at 15600 Central Avenue SE, Albuquerque, NM 87123 (1 mile east of Tramway Boulevard off Route 66/Central Ave). There are plenty of shade trees and some old buildings. Note that this will be the 3rd Saturday in October to avoid the Balloon Fiesta crowds. We will meet in the parking lot.

     (Registration is not necessary. Please arrive with your gear, water, a hat, sunscreen, and perhaps a small portable chair.)

    NMWS October 2026 Paint Out

    NMWS November 14th 2026 Paint Out

    For the November 14th paint out, Linda Krumel has graciously offered to host at her property: 26 Columbine Lane, Cedar Crest, NM. The paint out will be from 1 to 3 pm. Traveling north out of Tijeras, Columbine Lane is on the WEST (Sandia Mtn) side of Hwy 14 about 2.5 miles north of I-40. (Note: Columbine Lane is south of Talking Talons thrift store. If people get to Triangle Grocery, they are too far north.) Her gate is approximately 1/3 mile from Hwy 14. It is on a sharp corner with a green & white 26 on gate post. The road is narrow gravel and has blind curves. It is the first place within the gate. Linda's phone number is 505-321-5982.

General Information - NMWS "Paint Outs" are opportunities to create watercolors outdoors/outside "en plein air" in and around the Albuquerque area. Paint Outs usually occur on the Saturday of the weekend after the monthly Albuquerque membership meeting, but dates can vary. Paint Outs are scheduled throughout the year and are intended to be informal sessions to allow members to meet up and paint in a small group at various locations around town. Most Paint Outs start around 9:30 or 10AM, depending on the location, winter meeting times often shift to 1pm to 3pm. Attendees will often get together for lunch at a nearby restaurant after the Paint Out. At least one of three experienced NMWS members will be present at each Paint Out and can offer some instruction to any interested member. Specific information will be posted prior to each monthly event.
