“Drawing Workshop 2: The Human Figure”

Sue Davis will conduct a series of four Tuesday morning classes lasting 2.5-3 hours each will concentrate on the human figure. The first day covers drawing simple stick figures, gesture sketching, proportions and measuring. The following weeks address how to simplify skeletal and musculature structure, basic facial anatomy, shading techniques, drawing from a live model, portraiture and rendering realistic hands.

WEEK 2: Simplifying Major Anatomy
WEEK 3: Simplifying Musculature
WEEK 4: Hands and Portraiture
A charcoal kit is included as instruction will be provided on how to use this medium to create loose, expressionistic drawings.
A detailed pdf explaining the concepts and activities to be presented that week will be emailed to each participant. There will be demonstrations and exercises which focus on the weekly topic.
Time will be provided for everyone to practice the techniques in class.

Very Short Instructor Bio:
Sue is a graduate of the American Academy of Art in Chicago and has been teaching at the college level for over 14 years. She draws every single day and enjoys helping others discover the simple joy of sketching. Sue believes that knowing how to see and draw well is the foundation for creating believable paintings
