Application for NMWS Signature Membership (Wednesday, April 01, 2026)

Application for NMWS Signature Membership

Eligibility Requirements:

The artist must have exhibited five (5) different paintings in five (5) of the following New Mexico Watercolor Society juried exhibitions within 5 years.

NMWS Juried Spring Exhibition
Western Federation Societies (WFWS) exhibition
MasterWorks of New Mexico exhibition (Miniature exhibit does not apply)
NMWS Southern Chapter Juried Annual Exhibition

Credit for acceptances are limited to two per year and one painting per exhibition
Member of NMWS at the time of application
Payment of a one-time Signature Member Application fee of $20.00.

Upon acceptance of your application, the Signature Membership Chair will authorize your inclusion in the Signature Membership Group as appropriate. A certificate of acceptance will then be sent to you. The NMWS designation will also be included in subsequent NMWS Directories. Current Membership in NMWS must be maintained in order to use the "NMWS" designation.

NORTHERN Area - Albuquerque

The May 9th paint out will be at the UNM Duck Pond, 1890 Roma Ave NE, Albuquerque, from 10 am to 12 noon. The Duck Pond is in the center of the University of New Mexico campus, and free parking is available on Saturdays in the C lot 100 yards west of the Duck Pond, southeast of the Las Lomas and Redondo intersection. We will meet at the Duck Pond.

(Registration is not necessary. Please arrive with your gear, water, a hat, sunscreen, and perhaps a small portable chair.)

SC May: Watercolor Collage and Swap and Sell (Sunday, May 10, 2026)

The Southern Chapter May program will be our annual swap and sell of art supplies and books (bring your cash and bags to carry your purchases)! If you have any art “stuff” you’d like to swap or sell, feel free to bring it along! We’ll have tables set up around the room for you to display your wares.

We’ll also have a mini demo of watercolor collage. Longtime teacher and SC member Laurel Weathersbee will demonstrate reusing paintings that aren’t quite up to snuff and transform them into collage art.

The meeting is free and open to the public. Please bring a friend!
