Granulating Watercolors… More Ways They Can Surprise Us Please join us Saturday, February 7 at 10am for a demo by Sylvia Aruffo. Sylvia will build upon one of the techniques Pam Barcita presented in the fall on how to lift color from granulating paints. She will take us on her journey from a chance encounter with these amazing pigments, to making friends with watercolor artists who are masters of granulation. Silvia was introduced to the amazing properties and possibilities when painting with minerals and semi-precious gemstones ground into powders. You’ll also see how they are used in Pamela’s technique! Sylvia will generously share her resources for learning more about granulating pigments. Sylvia holds signature status with the Transparent Watercolor Society of America and the Illinois Watercolor Society, where she was on the Board of Directors for eight years. She recently had five paintings accepted in less than five years with the New Mexico Watercolor Society to earn her Signature Member status.
