SC April paintout @ Fort Selden

Ft. Selden will be hosting a celebration of Earth Day and the many birds in our area on Saturday, April 22. The paintout will be on Saturday, April 22, starting at 10:30.  The members of the New Mexico Watercolor Society Southern Chapter have been invited to participate.   Directions: follow Valley towards Hatch; right at Ft. Selden sign; stay right; Ft. Selden parking lot on left).

The fort will open at 10:00 and close at 4.00. Food trucks will be on location.

 The staff at Ft. Selden would like to display our paintings (sketches, collages, sculptures, photos taken of the area) or other arts for the following week. The manager, herself an artist, would would like to make this day the beginning of an annual tradition.

  I know the new members’ tea is the same day. Many of our plein air painting regulars are also new members and will be enjoying the wonderful tea. Because  the earth day events will be continuing until 4:00, I am hoping new members can still participate at some point during the daylong festivities.
  I am hoping this will be a fun day and am looking forward to painting and enjoying the festivities there.
