Jon Birdsong, who has lived and taught in the Southwest for many years, will offer a weekend workshop with a very interesting technique with watercolors and paper napkins for texture.
- Friday evening – meet, discuss & prepare the paper to let completely dry ·
Saturday - a floral still life & Southwest mountain scene, painting through paper dinner napkins, a technique which creates beautiful color mixes and fantastic textures ·-
- Sunday afternoon – finish up paintings from day 2
Jon brings many materials with him, including paper and paints to be shared with students. You’ll need your own palette and brushes.

This NMWS-SC Fall Workshop, with Jon Birdsong will be held Friday evening, Saturday, and Sun afternoon, October 29-31, 2021 at Good Samaritan Society's Creative Arts Room, 3011 Buena Vida Circle Las Cruces, NM 88011
Hours: Friday Evening 6-9; Saturday 9-4 with lunch break; Sunday 1-4
Minimum: 11 students
Maximum: 16 students
Fee: $175 for the weekend/3 day workshop.
Registration will open on August 15, 2021 to NMWS members for $175, payable online in full on registration.
If the workshop isn't filled, registration for non-members will open on September 15, 2021. An additional fee of $25 will be add for a total of $200, payable in full upon registration. If you become a member within 30 days of the end of the workshop, your $25 will be credited toward the $50 annual membership fee. If you join October - December, your subscription will run through December 2022.
Because of the fluid situation with the pandemic, if we are required to cancel the workshop due to health orders by the NM Governor or direction from Good Sam's, the entire fee will be refunded.
Before you register, READ the Workshop Cancellation Policy : Refunds of the Workshop fee will not be given, REGARDLESS of the REASON for withdrawal, unless and until a paid replacement has been found for that seat in the Workshop. An exception to the above will be made if the registrant cancels within 7 days of paying the deposit and that cancellation is more than 60 days prior to the start of the workshop.
