Looking for a COOL workshop this summer? Jeanne Hyland will be teaching a FUN "Wet and Workable" workshop in Cloudcroft July 31-August 4. If you haven't "done" a Cloudcroft workshop yet, this is a terrific one to try. Jeanne is a wonderful teacher and the Cloudcroft Art Workshops are the BEST.

Jeanne will show you how to "BUST" the many watercolor myths and achieve rich dimensional flower portraits! Start with intuitive paint application or blocking in large shapes and values and life or sculpt out of it.  You can easily get loose, flowing color, soft edges as well as crisp details.  You will learn to manage moisture in your brush, paint & paper to uncover the tremendous flexibility of watercolor.  By keeping the paint "workable" for hours with wet glazing we will take the hurry out of watercolor. Work fro a supplied photo on day one, then bring your own 8" x 10" photos for remaining time.  A lively and FUN class with a unique approach!!

Have you been following us on Instagram or Facebook?

If you are on these internet sites, please follow us on Instagram  or like us on  Facebook  (we are a group called NMWS) and share posts from NMWS onto your own pages or via email to your friend groups.  In this way we can publicize our chapter to hopefully increase our membership and elevate watercolor in the Las Cruces/El Paso area!

Everyone is strongly encouraged to  join the FB group and post your own photos of your work.  Instagram works differently so I will post winners from the show, and will gladly post anyone else's photo that is in the show.  Please send any photos to publicize to me at rcmurphree@outlook.com   If anyone has contacts with art teachers in the schools/colleges, please send me their info!
