This show was another big step in the growth of the Southern Chapter. Our Spring 2008 Exhibition was the Chapter’s first
juried/judged show, held at the Branigan Cultural Center in downtown Las Cruces in April 2008. Jurors for this show were
Sally Bryant and Marcella Boushelle, both signature members in the NMWS, Albuquerque who not only judged the show but gave
of their time to offer critiques to any interested entrant. From 57 entries by 29 artists, 35 paintings were chosen to hang
in the show. Seven winners were awarded in the judging and an eighth was voted Viewers’ Choice by those attending the
reception on Friday, April 4.
