The Southern Chapter is looking forward to a most interesting set of programs through June. Our group meets on the second Sunday of each month in the Dresp Room of the Branigan Library, 200 E. Picacho Avenue, Las Cruces, at 2 pm. unless announced otherwise. Details of the upcoming month’s program are announced in Brushstrokes. Take a quick look here into the future.
- March 9, 2008: Woody Duncan, NMWS and President of NMWS, will demonstrate techniques for adding texture to paintings. See some of his paintings and read about his ideas at www.taospaint.com.
- April 13, 2008: David Rothermel, www.david-rothermel.com, will demonstrate about “Acrylics used like Watercolor”.
- May 10/11, 2008 (date not final): Local artist, Lois Smith will demonstrate her approach to gelatin plate prints- a great technique to combine with watercolor or collage, or use stand alone.
- June 8, 2008 (place to be announced, Library closed): Attendees will show and discuss the results of using techniques learned from viewing Ken Hosmer's DVD, More Dynamic Color, during the February 2008 program, or may share any other new painting ideas you have discovered.
