My life as a watercolor painter is a relatively recent one. I painted vocationally for any number of years, learning
about the medium primarily through workshop participation. Then, in 2005, I retired from a 30 year career as a University
Professor in Speech-Language Pathology. Finally, I had time to devote to advancing my painting.
In addition to having time to paint since moving to New Mexico, several other excellent opportunities have come my way.
First and foremost is my involvement as a student of J. K. Drummond (www.jkdrummond.com.)
I admired her work for many years and had envisioned myself as a value painter. I couldn’t have had a better teacher and
more delightful person to learn from than Jae.
I also had the good fortune of joining the New Mexico Watercolor Society. This association led to identification as a
Signature Member in 2008.
