Maris Shepherd, NMWS

Maris Shepherd, proud mother and grandmother, lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she is a prize-winning member of the New Mexico Watercolor Society. After attending high school in Fort Worth, Texas, Maris studied architectural engineering at Texas Technological University and earned a degree in fine arts at University of New Mexico. Her teachers of watercolor technique include nationally recognized artists Charles Reid, Milliard Sheets, and Robert E. Wood.

Maris Shephard's awards include a place in the American Watercolor Society Show, New York City; cash awards in the juried exhibitions of Western Federation of Watercolor Societies, NM Watercolor Society, South Carolina art societies, SC and NM State Fair Fine Arts competitions, and dozens of local and regional professional shows. Her work can be found in hundreds of private and corporate collections, including various banks of Albuquerque, the state of South Carolina, Republic Bank of Texas, First City Bank of Fort Worth, Fort Worth Summit Bank, and Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce. Many members of the Royal Family of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia own Mrs. Shephard's watercolors as well as the Saudi America Bank of Riyadh.
