Margaret Bernstein, Southern Chapter, Las Cruces

Watercolor’s quick response to emotion and movement cause painting with this medium to be an invigorating and engrossing experience. Like hundreds, probably thousands before me, coming to the Southwest triggered an acute awareness of refreshing, yet fragile artifacts and natural environments. I try to keep some of my experiences with paint and brush, thus carrying on my family “responsibility” as its fourth-generation woman artist.
