Jan Sausker

Always interested in art and exposed to it early through her mother’s art and ceramic classes at the University of North Dakota, Jan later took classes in the same art department. She grew up in North Dakota, but has lived in OK, TX, CO and now in NM. Living in Albuquerque now, at present she has work in one local gallery, but has shown previously in other Albq. Galleries, the NM state fair and in CO.

Jan does watercolors of stylized Southwest women, but also works in pastels, acrylics and occasionally oils. She paints from her photos taken on travels within NM as well the US and abroad. She also does still-life from arrangements of objects she finds interesting.

Jan belongs to the New Mexico Watercolor Society, has been a member of the NM Art League and has worked the other side of the picture, so to speak, in gallery sales.
