Donna Dionne, NMWS
In my past life, I was an administrator/manager at the University of New Mexico. For thirty years, I directed activities in various positions. Upon retirement, I took the Master Gardener Program, Literacy Volunteer Program teaching adults how to read, Rape Crisis Counseling and a Continuing Ed class at UNM. It was Gale Waddell and her watercolor class that changed my life. She encouraged her students to join the New Mexico Watercolor Society and in doing so I have met many other artists who are passionate about art.

Since becoming involved in the NMWS, I have taken positions on the Board as VP for Membership, Workshop Chair and currently am serving as its President. During this time many workshop and painting opportunites presented themselves to me and I have studied art/painting under Bud Edmondson, Laurie Johnson, Frank Lalumia, Gerald Brommer, David Daniels, Jan Wallake, Joyce Faulknor, Nancy Reyner, Tony Couch and Ron Ranson.

The process is ongoing and I am passionate about where the next bend in the road will take me. Currently, I’m involved in abstract expressionism and the wide appeal and surprises that Yupo paper provides. I love working with liquid watercolors and acrylics in a loose colorful way.
